Setup

1. Create a Vapi Account

1. Sign up at vapi.ai
2. Get a phone number (or bring your own)
3. Configure your AI assistant voice

2. Get Your API Key

1. Go to Vapi Dashboard
2. Navigate to API Keys
3. Create and copy your API key

3. Add to Clawly

1. Go to your Clawly Dashboard
2. Find the Phone skill
3. Click Configure
4. Enter your Vapi API Key
5. Optionally add your Phone Number ID
6. Click Save

How It Works

Making a Call

When you say "call John at 555-123-4567":

1. Clawly initiates the call via Vapi
2. AI voice handles the conversation
3. You get a transcript when done

Call Flow

1. Initiate - Call is placed to the number
2. Connect - Waits for answer or voicemail
3. Converse - AI handles the conversation
4. Summarize - You get transcript and key points

Receiving Calls

If you set up inbound handling:

1. Calls come to your Vapi number
2. AI assistant answers
3. Takes message or handles request
4. You get notified with summary

Tips

• Confirm before calling - Always verify the number
• State purpose clearly - Have a clear objective
• Respect timezone - Don't call too early or late
• Follow up - Send summary after important calls

Vapi lets you customize:

• Voice tone and style
• Opening greeting
• Conversation style
• Fallback responses

Pricing

Vapi charges per minute of call time:

• Outbound calls: ~$0.05/minute
• Inbound calls: ~$0.05/minute
• Plus phone number costs
