Setup

1. Set Up WhatsApp Business

  1. Go to Meta Business Suite
  2. Create or link your business account
  3. Set up WhatsApp Business API

2. Get API Credentials

  1. In Meta Business Suite, go to WhatsApp settings
  2. Create a System User
  3. Generate an access token
  4. Note your Phone Number ID

3. Add to Clawly

  1. Go to your Clawly Dashboard
  2. Find the WhatsApp skill
  3. Click Configure
  4. Enter your Meta Access Token and Phone Number ID
  5. Click Save

How It Works

Sending Messages

When you say "message John on WhatsApp":

  1. Clawly formats the message
  2. Sends via WhatsApp Business API
  3. Confirms delivery

24-Hour Window

WhatsApp has a messaging window rule:

  • You can send any message within 24 hours of customer contact
  • After 24 hours, you must use approved templates
  • Templates require Meta approval

Tips

  • Use templates for first contact - Required by WhatsApp policy
  • Respond within 24 hours - Keep the conversation window open
  • Keep it professional - Business API has usage policies
  • Verify phone numbers - Include country code (+1 for US)
